CURRICULUM
We take a new approach to our curriculum as well.
In addition to learning ABCs and 123s, our students learn how to learn, and love it! Monthly themes become weekly topics, but our proven methodology remains the same: through a process of inquiry and dialog, we encourage our students to ask questions and form a bigger picture. We encourage young students to take action, start to identify problems and practice creating solutions. Children from a few months old to the age of 5 are learning how to discover the world around them, interact with it and make positive changes in their own universe.
Weekly subjects include Multiculturalism, Mindfulness, Science, Nature, and Community, while daily instruction takes place in Art, Music, Kinesthetics, Reading and Writing.
We aim to meet the needs of all types of learners each day: auditory, visual, audio-visual, logical, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, tactile and verbal.
Each class becomes a community of inquiry in which students are encouraged to explore, discover, encounter, create and question all around them. Children are taught the procedures needed to self-correct behavior and thought. Independence, empathy and awareness are emphasized in all activities and through the presence of younger and older children in the program.
